Last month, BCBS released information regarding Massachusetts Creditable Coverage and how to obtain a 1099-HC form, since the form will not be automatically released beginning with the 2009 plan year.

In lieu of submitting a formal letter to facilitate the Massachusetts Creditable Coverage Attestation, BCBS created a form for groups to fill-out (Click on the link above to access) and return to them acknowledging that they meet the minimum requirements. Upon receipt of the completed form, the group will be added to the list of groups that have Massachusetts residents. These members will receive the 1099-HC forms for the 2009 plan year (which will be issued in January 2010).
